ODI Fellowship Scheme 2022-2024 | Fully Funded

ODI Fellowship Scheme 2022-2024 | Fully Funded

ODI is committed to supporting the development of young people with a disability, through providing a range of opportunities for them to learn and develop skills. We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded £5.7million funding from the UK Government to support the next phase of our youth programme over the next four years.

For instance, we are funding a pilot project in England that will enable people with learning disabilities to work with an experienced mentor on a part-time basis.

The scheme will support the next phase of the ODI Youth programme, which is designed to develop the confidence and skills of young people with a disability. It will enable them to access and develop their own interests and develop and demonstrate the range of skills and knowledge that will support them in their future life choices.

We are also providing training to staff working with young people with a disability, so that they can support the young people they work with to develop their skills and confidence.

Again, our funding is being provided through the National Lottery, and we are grateful to everyone who supported our application.

It is now four years since we launched our first Youth Programme. Since then we have provided a wide range of activities and supported over 100 young people aged 16-25 with a disability to get the skills they need to find work.

We have also worked closely with over 70 employers to develop a range of apprenticeship opportunities and provided specialist support to around 50 young people with a disability who are looking to start their own business.

Again, this is in addition to our existing funding of £2.9million.

“This funding will allow us to support more young people with a disability and to work with a wider range of partners to deliver services to improve the quality of life for young people with a disability.

“This funding will enable us to build on the success of our existing services and to expand our support for young people with a disability and their families.

On the other hand, we will be able to offer training to staff to ensure that they can support young people with a disability to develop their skills and confidence.

“This is a hugely exciting time for us and for young people with a disability. I am confident that this funding will allow us to provide even more support and opportunities to young people with a disability and their families.”

The Government has announced a number of schemes to support young people with a disability.
